Laser Vision Correction Using an All-In-One Femtosecond Laser Procedure with the Visumax Laser

March 12th, 2010

This video has been provided by Dr. Rupal Shah, New Vision Laser Centers, Vadodara. It highlights a cross between two procedures-FLEx (Femtosecond Lenticule Extraction) and SMILE (Small Incision Lenticule Extraction). The Carl Zeiss Meditec Visumax Femtosecond Laser is used to create both a refractive lenticule, as well as a LASIK flap. Unlike conventional Femtosecond LASIK, where a femtosecond laser is used to create a flap, and the excimer laser is used to perform the refractive correction, this is an ALL-IN-ONE (AIO) procedure, where only a femtosecond laser is used to perform the entire LASIK procedure. ALL-IN-ONE can be done using a technique known as FLEx, which is basically similar to LASIK, but can also be done by a technique known as SMILE (which reduces the incision size to perform LASIK. This video shows a procedure known as Psuedosmile, where the full incision is made with the Femtosecond Laser, but the lenticule is removed only from a small area.

Is there any Laser Vision correction Hospital / Clinic in Jeddah?

March 11th, 2010

Actually i don’t have by birth squint problem but it appeared at the agfe of 20 or 21, i got it operrated at the age of 23. But unfortunately i dont have any reports of that surgery. I want to get my vision correction throught Laser Eye Treatment in Jeddah

my advice dont do it in middle east again.Mostly if you are ajiinafi they dont care you or ignore you..

What do eye doctors think/do when they get a patient who has improved their eyesight without artificial means?

March 11th, 2010

And don’t tell me it doesn’t happen because every optomotrist I’ve talked to has experienced this from time to time. Mostly they say that the last prescription was too strong. I have students who have improved their eyesight, but I direct them to eye doctors who are open to natural eyesight and are less bound by their training.

likely there perscription was wrong or they have trained there eye muscles a bit better?

is there a way to not associate eye patches with pirates?

March 11th, 2010

I’m getting pretty sick of people automatically labeling eye patches as something only a pirate would wear. If someone has to wear one for actual medical reasons, what is something they could do to not look like a pirate wanna-be?

different color patches with accessories! Sorry, you can’t really do much beyond that.

What should i ask the people at the eye contact place and the eye specialist if i want to get contacts?

March 11th, 2010

I freeze when i ask a question to people, like i sound stupid…and i wanted your help on what to ask to the eye doctor that i want my eyes checked to get contacts…what did you say to your doctor?
and i have 20/20 vision , i don’t need glasses, i just hate my natural eyes lol.

ive been wearing glasses for most of my optical needs. last year was the first time i got perscription contacts. my first trip to the doctor;s office after i considered contacts was pretty easy. all i did was tell her i was interested in having contacts. you need to tell her before she examines you because im pretty sure that its a different exam and you need to get measured for them differently. once the doctor has completed the exam you should leave with a temporary pair that the doc actually gives you. i found it really frustrating at first to put them on, but once you get the hang of touching your actual eye, its a breeze to wear. the doc will go over everything from how long you should wear them the first couple of times to washing, to inerting and removing them. you also get a perscription for eyeglasses as well. so dont think that once you go contacts you cant wear glasses either.

How much does corrective laser eye surgery cost in South Korea?

March 11th, 2010

I hate contacts because they itch and make my eyes so dry, and I hate fooling around with eye moisturizer. I live in South Korea now. How much will it cost there?

Overall traditional lasik procedures still cost roughly $1,000 to $3000 to complete. If you pay less than $1,000 per eye treated, you may want to question your surgeon and verify his or her credentials. You should also see if there are hidden fees you are not aware of you may have to pay for later. When it comes to your eyes, a first and then a second opinion is best. Don’t choose your surgeon on cost alone.Hope this would help you. :)
