I'm 16 now, and I'm considering LASIK in 2 years. I've heard that the requirements for LASIK are a thick cornea with enough tissue---I have VERY bad eyesight (-7 and -5)...does this mean I have a thinner cornea and less tissue?

My dad went to the eye doctor because he was having trouble with peripheral vision. He is being sent to a specialist and we recieved a copy of the letter saying that is what he has. I have no clue what that means and I need someone to break it ...
