Laser Vision Correction :if anyone knows its good go for it .I need ur suggestions.?

I want to get rid of my lens so i am thinking of getting laser vision correction permanently is anyone already gone thru this process if yes ,do let me know its good to go or one should not opt for this. Are there any side effects when we get our vision checkup to see wheather we can opt for laser tech or any illeffects after laser vision correction plz do suggest if someone has gone thru this..

I am doing it on Thursday (two days from now). I know so many people who have done it and swear by it.

Best thing to do is go and talk with the staff. They will tell you that if your prescription is less than -4.0, your eye correction will be very predictable.

There are basically two types of surgery. Traditional Lasik & Wavefront Lasik (or custom lasik). Only after a full eye exam will you know which would be recommended. For me, they said there would be not much difference between Traditional & Wavefront since my eyes are so healthy & I have no problems with my night vision.

Call many places up, or ask who has done it. The place I am going to offers traditional Lasik for $800 per eye. Normally I would be skeptical for that low of a price but I know 4 people who have successfully had theirs done with this same doctor and swear by him. All the other places I have called are charging $1700 – $2000 per eye for the same exact procedure.

So most importantly, research your doctor!!!

Lasik certainly has benefits but like any surgery there are risks. Usually it seems to work out pretty well, but once you get older you may need reading glasses anyway. Its not uncommon to need "touch ups" after the surgery, since many people have mild problems first time around. Long term side effects include chronic dry eyes (can be relieved by drops) and a controversial aspect of it is that the surgeon cuts a flap in your cornea to perform the surgery. This flap from what I’ve heard, never heals, so care must be taken to protect the eyes during contact sports and other rough activities. Overall, the benefits of not having to wear glasses or contacts are excellent, but there are risks to take into consideration.
