C) "Teaching Grammar" (40 Hour)
Correspondence
(available soon)
- The teaching of grammar is a vital component of TESOL teaching.
- Most native speakers of English worry about their lack of grammar knowledge. They fear that they do not know their grammar. This is far from the truth. Native speakers of English use their grammar all day long by reading, writing, listening and speaking in everyday situations. Most native English speakers make very few grammatical errors.
- The problem, however, is that few native speakers actually know the rules of grammar. Most English speakers have difficulties explaining grammar rules and the exceptions to the rules.
- The 40 hour "Teaching Grammar" correspondence course has been created to solve this discrepancy between our ability to use grammar and our ability to understand and teach grammar.
- The "Teaching Grammar" manual clearly explains vital teaching information on: lesson planning, teaching tips, student activities for the classroom and aspects of English grammar.
- Each grammar section includes an explanation, plenty of examples, lots of practise questions and an accompanying answer key.
- Correspondence students are required to complete the quizzes at the end of each section in addition to creating original lesson plans focussing on various grammar points.
